2024 Koori Knockout – Bathurst Walgett goes back-to-back as Bourke Warriors make finals in men and women

Walgett went back-to-back at the Koori Knockout at Bathurst on Monday, defeating Nanima Common Connection in the grand final after Nanima ended the Bourke Warriors’ run in Monday’s semifinal.

Walgett’s 2024 win was inspired by Brisbane Broncos recruit – halfback Latrell Siegwalt who steered the Walgett Aboriginal Connection side to a big 46-12 victory on Monday.

Siegwalt controlled the game, scoring two tries and pulling off a try-assist, including several pieces of individual brilliance, slicing through the Nanima defence on several occasions.

His try-assist was gladly accepted by Bourke boy Troyden Dixon, when Siegwalt slipped past the defence and offloaded, giving Troyden an easy passage to the line. […]
