Bourke residents can be part of a commemoration of local people who served in the Second World War.

The project is an initiative of the Bourke Library to honour the servicemen and servicewomen from the district, on the 75th anniversary of the end of WWII in 1945.

Library Manager Jodi Hatch, said families with wartime memorabilia can donate it temporarily to the project, to be displayed online and at the library.

“We are collecting information on all the Bourke servicemen and women to create a slideshow that we will put on our website and on Facebook,” Jodi said.
