Time to shed COVID kilos as gym opens

The virus lockdown has meant many of Bourke’s fitness enthusiasts have had to work out at home, but they now have no excuse for shedding the COVID-19 kilos – the PCYC gym has re-opened.

Youngsters keen to get back into activities may have to wait a little longer as restrictions are still in place for the rest of the PCYC facility, but for now, the gym is a start, according to Administration Manager Shannon Carroll.

“Monday was our first day actually opening the doors,” Shannon said.

“This week only we are open from 2pm until 8pm and from next week we’ll be open from 12noon until 8pm.

“Only the gym is open, we can’t let kids in to do any activities just yet, but we’ll let everyone know when we are allowed to do that – we’re just not quite sure when we’ll be given the go ahead yet so at the moment, it’s strictly just the gym.”
