Two young jockeys from Bourke and Brewarrina are continuing to impress on the track, posting wins at two separate race meetings last week.
Ronald Simpson is a young apprentice from Brewarrina, now based in Gulgong and rode the Clint Lundholm trained Sons of Bourke to a win at Dubbo last week.
The horse is owned by a group of Bourke locals and like our local jockeys, has had some impressive form over the past 12 months.
The trainer was full of praise for Ronald who brought Sons of Bourke home for a win by a length and a half.
“Sons of Bourke has been racing well first-up over previous preparations and Ronny is riding with such confidence,” Clint said.
On Wednesday, former Bourke boy Chris Williams posted a win, a second and two fourth placings in his first outing at Royal Randwick racecourse after time off with injury.
