Celebrating Mother’s Day despite restrictions

With social distancing still in place and restrictions on the number of visitors allowed, Mother’s Day was a little different this year.

But that just meant that families had to find new ways to celebrate their mums.

Some families took time out to enjoy a moment on the banks of the Darling River, others decided to fire up the barbie and cook Mum a big breakfast at home.

The restrictions around Mother’s Day 2020 gave some mums a bit of quiet time at home, and for two of Bourke’s newest parents, that wasn’t entirely a bad thing.

Brooke Peterson and her partner Mitch Sheffield welcomed baby Taj just three weeks ago and for them, the stay-at-home rules have meant less stress and plenty of time to get to know their little boy. There has been a downside, however.
