Frank’s BP here for the long haul

Frank’s BP Service Station on Mooculta Street is one of Bourke’s iconic businesses.

It has survived droughts, floods, economic upheaval, and loss of town population.

It now faces another test with the coronavirus pandemic wiping out this year’s tourism season, the Easter Festival and the Bourke Show, and forcing people to stay at home.

But as one of the town’s most recognisable businesses, owner Paul McKenna realised Franks could also send a powerful message to residents to support local businesses so they could survive this year’s setbacks to fight another day.

Paul has managed to not only keep his workforce employed but has taken on another local worker – Tony Norman – to manage the tyre fitting shop. Paul is determined to stay the course.
