Wild Dogs Beware!

Final preparations are underway before work begins on an impressive piece of infrastructure bordering three states – the Wild Dog Fence Extension.
Building another 420 kilometres onto the existing NSW-Queensland border fence and 320 kilometres on the South Australian fence, will cost $37.5 million and create 85 jobs.
Wild Dog Fence Extension Project Manager Dan Owens has been travelling the region to explain the significance of the fence, answering questions and conducting a series of workshops.
“The fence extension is a vast project with a lot of sensitivity,” Dan said.
“There has been an enormous amount of planning by the Border Fence Management Board including a feasibility study to see if it had a good cost-benefit ratio and that study showed there were definite benefits and that the project should go ahead.
