The Bourke Bowling Club is looking at a big year ahead with some surprising changes, challenges and opportunities for members.

Secretary-Manager Lacey Orcher said despite a few setbacks, the newly renovated bowling greens are now open for members and guests.

“The renovations didn’t go quite to plan because of the weather, the water situation and sourcing professionals from away to come out and do certain things, so we were a little bit behind time but we are very happy with the greens at this stage,” Lacey said.

With the bowls season about to get underway, Lacey is reminding people to join up and if they are already members to get their nominations in by close of business on Friday for the club championships.

“I’ll have more information on the championships which start in March, but the main thing is for people to get their nominations in by tomorrow,” she said.
