Main Street plants on hold for now
Despite high hopes there would be more rain and enough water in storage for the final touches to the main street upgrade, Bourke Council has made the decision to hold off until the end of summer – or until it buckets down again.
Council’s Acting General Manager Leonie Brown said there had been a sense of optimism that plantings could have gone in to add foliage to the upgraded structures and landscaping along the main stretch of the CBD, but unfortunately, that optimism had evaporated – along with a lot of the moisture.
