Rain at Last! God’s early Christmas present for the Outback

Bourke rejoiced this week, there was dancing in the streets, celebrations, tears of joy and laughter to lift the spirits. Yes, it rained at Bourke. And it came down in buckets! 94.6mm at Bourke!

An unexpected cold front dumped 3-4 inches of rain across most parts of the shire on Saturday and Sunday, quenching the dry earth, putting the drought on notice if just for a moment, and making headlines around the country.
