Drought Funding sees upgrades at Wanaaring

The village of Wanaaring is enjoying an upgrade to some of the town’s facilities with drought funding improving amenities for residents and visitors.

The continued work on sealing the Wanaaring Road is adding to the improvements and the town is seeing a marked increase in the number of tourists travelling to the town.

Secretary of the Wanaaring and District Progress Association Greg Standfield said while the drought was making it tough for everyone across the region, the funding secured by the Bourke Shire Council for the upgrades had also created employment for local people.
