Obituary – The passing of Peter Atkins

Long-term Bourke resident, and the founder of Goanna Swags, Peter Atkins passed away at Urunga on 12 August 2019, aged 65 years. Following is an abridged version of a eulogy prepared by Peter’s siblings Tony and Susan: 

There are no words to express the sadness and loss we feel at the death of our brother Peter.

Peter Michael Atkins was born in Sydney on 3 November 1953 to Jim and Sheila Atkins. He lived in Lugarno, Sydney until the family moved to Tumut (when Peter was 8) and to Bourke two years later. During these years Peter was a keen footballer, playing football at Tumut, Bourke and Red Bend College Forbes.
