Drought claims Garden Club competition

For the first time in decades, the Bourke Garden Club has had to cancel its annual garden competition.
As well, it has postponed the Annual Spring Flower and Geranium Show and the Rose competition as the drought decimates our local gardens.
Garden Club President Jackie Davis said the club had made the decision regretfully but had no other choice.
“We’ve had to cancel the competition because there are just not enough decent gardens and we’d be putting people at a disadvantage if we were to go ahead,” Jackie said.
“We are very disappointed and we were hoping to get some water down the river but that’s not likely.
