A love of his home town has turned into a three volume series of books on the history of Brewarrina for third generation local John George.

John grew up on a farm at Brewarrina, spent his entire working life in the township behind the counter of the grocery store and now shares his love of the area through his books.

The latest volume is packed full of information on historic events at Brewarrina, local family history, the stories of returned service men and women and a section on the historic hotels of the Brewarrina District.

John’s love of Brewarrina is shared by others, with many people contributing their stories, their family histories and their experiences in the outback.
