Bourke’s main street taking shape

Bourke’s new look main street is taking shape, with paving, stone sculptures and wooden bench seating installed and new structures in the planning.

After some initial opposition from some residents, Bourke Council General Manager Ross Earl said the feedback from the community was now largely positive and he was confident the finished renovation would get the seal of approval.

“It’s been progressing steadily and architect and designer Richard Stutchbury’s vision is really emerging with the addition of the stone sculptures and the paving design,” Mr Earl said.
