Bourke gets a makeover

Bourke is setting a facelift as various drought funding programs are put to work, including upgrades to Central Park and the development of an amphitheatre at Darling Park.
The improved facilities across the shire have been funded by a combination of the Building Stronger Communities Fund, the Drought Communities Extension Fund and by other grants obtained by Council and other revenue sources.
Council General Manager Ross Earl said the revitalisation of Central Park had seen it become an important focal point of recreation for the community.
“Shade sails, toilet facilities, new fencing, the installation of the exercise equipment and a new half-court basketball court have all added to the attractions in Central Park,” Mr Earl said.
