Police from throughout the Central North Police District were recognised for their outstanding service to the community at an Award Ceremony in Bourke on Wednesday.

The awards were presented by the Region Commander – Assistant Commissioner Geoffrey McKechnie, who commended all police officers receiving awards for their excellent service to the community.

Mr McKechnie highlighted the improvement in offences and crime clear-up rates in the Central North Region and commended local police officers for working hard to achieve better results – often alone with few resources, and often in remote and challenging environments.
