Water users get the message from NRAR

The visit to Bourke by Water Minister Melinda Pavey also brought to town some of the most important policy makers on water usage, security and compliance, including Chief Regulatory Officer for the Natural Resources Access Regulator, Grant Barnes.
Mr Barnes said he was keen to join the Minister’s touring party across the western regions of NSW to meet with community members and irrigators.
“The main purpose is to accompany the Minister but for me it is also a good opportunity as the regulator to catch up with the water users and landholders of the various associations and to check in with the lie of the land,” he said.
“NRAR is approaching its twelfth month anniversary and through that time we’ve had widespread support from industry groups and landholders who are very encouraging of an independent water regulator.
