The Bluegrass and Blues Music Festival could be a regular event if this year’s inaugural festival is a success. Organiser Andrew Hull said the response from artists had been highly enthusiastic and if the community responded and crowd numbers were good, it could be another major highlight of the Easter Reunion Festival in the coming years.
“We could have doubled the number of artists on the bill,” Andrew said. “I am still getting calls from people asking if they could be considered next time and who would have put their hand up for this event if they had been able to get here in time.
“The response has been really encouraging.”
The Blues Festival will be held on Good Friday and features seven performers, including some already well-known to Bourke audiences - Frank Povah, Tonchi and Archer among them.
