A Bourke farmer and grazier has challenged the statement that this is the worst drought in the Darling River at Bourke.
Will Turnbull of “Greenvale” station says it is not right to say that this dry period is the longest period of ‘no flow’ in the Darling at Bourke.
Mr Turnbull’s property is located on the Darling and Dry Bogan rivers between Bourke and Brewarrina and he says he’s seen the climatic extremes of the Darling.
But more importantly Will says we should be looking at the very accurate river flow records kept by our forebears.
