Don’t forget to vote this Saturday — voting is compulsory Photo: AEC

As we all head to the polling booths this Saturday, The Western Herald canvassed the major candidates for their views on five issues important to the Barwon electorate.

Each candidate was asked to answer four questions that have been uppermost in the campaign in Barwon — water management, roads funding, jobs in the bush, and mobile phone coverage. Each candidate was also asked to nominate an issue of choice.

The Western Herald received answers from the Nationals’ candidate Andrew Schier, Labor’s Darriea Turley, Roy Butler from the Shooters, Fishers & Farmer’s Party, Independent candidate Phil Naden and the Greens candidate Leigh Williams.
