Help during the heat

Police and health workers are warning people to take precautions during the intense heat after an elderly woman was found collapsed in the gutter in Mertin Street last week.

The woman – in her late 70’s – was rushed to Dubbo hospital in serious condition.

Earlier last week, resident Kristy Knight called for people to check on their neighbours and offer lifts to elderly people struggling to get to the shops, banks or doctors during the current heat wave.
