During her relatively short time in Bourke, fitness trainer and teacher Lauren Magnus has had a powerful impact on her students — in particular, those learning how to stay fit and healthy.
As well as her teaching career, Lauren is a dedicated fitness trainer and has run her Core Fitness boot camps since June last year.
This Saturday, Lauren and her seven year old daughter Ava head off to Ballina on the north coast where she is taking up a leadership position with St Anthony’s school in Kingscliff.
Husband Josh, a police officer, will remain in Bourke and Lauren will be a frequent visitor to the town.
This week, she was farewelled by her fitness clients who have vowed to stay on the straight and narrow when she departs. Lauren has upheld that commitment by agreeing to post weekly workouts so the Core Fitness girls can continue training.
In feedback she has found that her participants have gained a lot more than fitness through Lauren’s dedication.
