To mark Poland as the “Country of the Year”, a special box has been produced by Bay and Louise Lovett of the Nyngan CWA Branch.
The box contains information and pictures of “Poland at a Glance”: the Polish Flag, Poland’s emblem, how Polish people have won a total of 17 Nobel prizes, how Poland shares its borders with seven countries — Russia, Lithuania, Belarus, Ukraine, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Germany; and a special dressed doll.
The doll depicts the traditional costume of the Kujawy people of Poland.
It has a blue skirt and bodice with a red apron. The headwear is made of pleated ribbons and hand made flowers. Even the black boots with special black laces are handmade. The doll is accompanied by a photo of a Polish lady dressed in the traditional costume and information on the costume of the Kujawy people of Poland.
