Bourke will receive almost $1.8 million in funding aimed at breathing “new life” into community and sporting facilities.
And new airline services will soon be put out to tender.
Member for Barwon Kevin Humphries came to town this week to hand over Bourke’s share of the NSW Government’s Stronger Country Communities Fund – of $1.8m.
He also made a commitment that the new airline service for members of the JO would be honoured.
Deputy Premier John Barilaro said the Stronger Communities funding will also mean work for local tradespeople and suppliers and boost local businesses.
Seven projects will now get underway, including upgrades to the swimming pool, the wharf precinct and a pedestrian and cycleway on the levee walk.
