Bourke churches united to Pray For Rain

The people of Bourke have gathered to pray for rain. The challenge of the drought and its effect on the community was the inspiration for Bourke’s “Pray for Rain” gathering at the Wally Mitchell Wharf Precinct on Saturday.

A small crowd from all denominations brought their faith, hope and solidarity to the service, to pray for the end of the drought, and to show those doing it tough that the community is with them in their hardship.

Catholic Care Pastoral Worker Mary Anne Gordon organised the prayer meeting and said it was important that everyone in the community felt they could participate, no matter what faith they belonged to or whether they were members of a church or not.
