Bourke’s new doctor, Dr Ali Attia takes in his first patients at RaRMS on Monday.

Dr Attia has been working in emergency medicine at Bankstown Hospital before accepting the position in Bourke, and said it was the high standard of the primary schools and the open-heartedness of the community that were the deciding factors.

He visited Bourke with CEO of RaRMS Shane Hatton recently, met with Mayor Barry Hollman and other members of Council and toured St Ignatius and the Bourke Pubic School.
