Governments step up drought assistance

The Federal and NSW governments have responded to the drought crisis, increasing funding and support services. The state government released more funds for drought relief with its drought assistance now more than $1 billion.

The Berejiklian Government had been criticised by regional stakeholders, including at last week’s NSW Farmers Annual Conference in Sydney, for not doing enough to support desperate farmers.
