Wool Bale Rolling Draws a Huge Crowd
Bourke’s Wool Bale Rolling Championship is one of the most popular events across the Easter weekend, with a large crowd lining Oxley Street to watch the town’s toughest and fittest men and women pit their skills and strength against each other – and a 150kilogram wool bale.
The event included a Men’s Sprint, Women’s and Men’s teams and Relay Teams with competitors coming from Brisbane, Mudgee, Moree and closer to home to have a go.
Far from being just a novelty, the Wool Bale Rolling Championships are now hotly contested, with this year’s overall winner local hero Aaron Coyne.
Men’s Team winners were the High Rollers and the Women’s Team winners were the High Rollers.
