Cash for containers starts in Bourke

The Bourke Laundry Service is now giving a 10 cent refund for bottles and other eligible containers under the NSW container deposit scheme, Return and Earn.

Refunds will be given for most empty 150-millilitre to 3-litre drink containers, but there are exceptions: plain, unflavoured milk (or milk substitute) containers; flavoured milk containers 1 litre or more; pure fruit or vegetable juice containers 1 litre or more; glass containers for wine and spirits; casks for wine or water larger than 1 litre; sachets for wine 250ml or more; containers for cordials and concentrated fruit and vegetable juices; and registered health tonic containers will not be accepted.

At this stage containers can be exchanged between 8am and 3pm each week day, with weekend hours to be announced early next year.
